Suzhou, China, January 19, 2024 – BASF Monomers and its key isocyanate partner, Xuchuan Chemical, have launched a strategic cooperation to jointly develop a strategic cooperation on biomass balance (BMB) methylene diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) in synthetic leather applications. The primary goal of this cooperation is to reduce carbon emissions in the production of polyurethane products in the synthetic leather industry, and the two companies will leverage their respective strengths, BASF will leverage its expertise in biomass balance (BMB) MDI production, and Xuchuan Chemical will leverage its operating network in the synthetic leather industry chain to achieve the joint goal.
